Lovely work Nightwisher!
I don't think you have gone over the top with the rust, what you've done really gives her that used look

Well your wood decks look fantastic with the weathering powder, great job. Always easy to overdo weathering but think your getting the ballance about right. Think your build is looking great, defiantly a contender for build of the year Jase “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Hello all, thank so much for all your nice comments, glad you like my efforts. I have made up and painted a few hatches and the depth charge racks. I have also come across a bit of a problem with a gap in the sloped roof at the rear of the lower bridge ,looking at pictures of other builds it appears everyone is the same .Maybe it's supposed to look like that. I personally think it looks a bit odd and will be changing it. nightwisher attached the following image(s): Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Thanks for looking in Mogwai,a bit more work done on the upper bridge.I replaced the sloping roof and glued down the wooden decking (supposed to be self adhesive pah!).Have also fitted a few pipe rails, the first of many,I bought metal stantions from Dave Parkins great little ships and brass wire from Cornwall model boats, both arrived within a few days. nightwisher attached the following image(s): Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Haven't had time to do much modelling, done some more pipe rails, the stantions are very fragile and break easily. Once they are assembled with wire and glued they seem a bit stronger. nightwisher attached the following image(s): Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Well it's been awhile, working 6 days a week doesn't leave much time for modelling, but managed to do some work on the bandstand this weekend. I added a tread pattern with some evergreen. After adding more fiddly handrails I tried to make some chain link fencing with brass mesh, it was a bit thicker than I wanted but hopefully it will look okay when painted up nightwisher attached the following image(s): Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Very nice update on your build. I know exactly what you mean with work, it gets in the way of life and really should not be like that. Hope you manage to find the time to continue soon. Happy Modelling

Thanks for looking in Tony,I did manage to do a few bits and pieces. The main gun is a little plain but will be covered with the shield, just added a couple of homemade hand wheels. The little wedges holding the shells needed to be hollowed out so I set to work with a file (nice of revell to put a sink hole in them to help out) ,only another 23 to do. I also decided to thin the walls of the vent shaft thingies with a multitool, the picture shows one before and one after. nightwisher attached the following image(s): Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!

Hi folks, sorry it's been so long since my last update, been busy at work.Have managed to do bits here and there, painted the funnel and bandstand. Fitted the depth charge launchers ,various deck fittings and more pipe rails.Took advantage of some decent weather for a change to take some photos outside. nightwisher attached the following image(s): Man he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day will cease to be Greet the last light of the library...We were here!
