Pack 2 contains Stage 6 – 17
Stage 6 Contains: Hull fame 7, Deck piece 3, and 2 wooden strips 5 x 5 x 300mm.
Lightly sand all pieces as before test fit and mark the position of Hull Frame 7 in the slot. Remove hull frame 7 and apply wood glue to the contact areas. Place Hull frame 7 into the slot and use a set-square to check the intersections are at 90 degrees to each other. Allow the glue to completely dry.
Apply Wood glue along the false keel and hull frames. As per Step D of the the instructions. Press the deck piece into place and weigh down the deck piece until the glue is completely dry.
Measure and mark a piece of 5 x 5 x 300mm strip, to fit onto the lower ledges on the inside of hull frame 5 and cut to length. Apply wood glue to the ledges shown in Step I of the instructions, place the beam onto the ledges. Make sure the beam is Level with both ends of the frame.
Repeat Steps F and G to fix the beams onto the ledges of hull Frame 6. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Measure, cut and glue the beams for hull frames 2 and hull frame 3, As shown in Step J of the instructions, and shown from a different angle in Step K of the instructions.
Stage complete, carefully store any remaining parts in a stage labelled bag.

Stage 7 contains: Deck Piece, two wooden strips 5 x 5 x 300mm, Wooden strips 0.6 x 5 x 300mm.
Sand the deck piece as before. Measure the deck piece and divide it in two, to mark the centre line of the deck. Apply glue to the beams. Carefully place the deck piece onto the beams and push the deck down. Weigh down the deck and leave the glue to completely dry.
Prepare the Planking as before. Then use two clamps to hold the planks together, and blacken the four edges of the planks with a pencil.
Glue and apply the strips working out from centre line drawn on the deck earlier, and making sure they continue on from the planking of the fore deck.
Continue adding the strips, making sure they match the planking on the fore deck. As shown in Step F of the instructions. Cut smaller pieces of wooden strip to cover the deck next to the tops of the frames.
Glue the strips across the width of the deck, but leave the rear section uncovered. Press down strips firmly to ensure they are stuck down firmly to the deck. Leave the glue to completely dry,
Use a sharp craft knife to remove the excess of the strips along the outer perimeter of the deck. Then repeat the same operation to trim the inner edges of the openings in the centre, as shown In Step I of the instructions.
With a small file or nail file smooth the edges of the strips that surround each opening.
Stage complete, carefully store any remaining parts in a stage labelled bag.

Stage 8 contains: Bowsprit deck and forward bulkhead, Bowsprit bulkhead, Sapele stripes 0.6 x 5 x 250mm, Wooden strips 0.6 x 5 x 200mm, Doors.
Prepare a 5 x 5mm strip for the upper beam of Hull frame 4. Rest the strip on the ledges of hull frame 4, mark the length with a pencil and cut the strip to length. Check the beam fits properly then glue it in place.
Take the Bowsprit and bulkhead fret and cut out the forward bulkhead with a craft knife. Smooth the surface of the piece with sandpaper. Measure and cut short lengths of Sapele strip 0.6 x 5 x 350mm just larger than the forward bulkhead. Mark a center line on the bulkhead then glue the strips down starting at the centre line working outwards. When the glue has completely dry, turn the piece over and trim off the excess strip around the edges with a craft knife. Sand the edges of the bulkhead to eliminate any imperfections then smooth the surface with sandpaper following the grain.
Apply glue to the front of frame 4. Stick the bulkhead to the rear of frame 4, making sure that the edges are flush on all sides. Clamp the bulkhead and let the glue completely dry.
Remove the bowsprit deck from the fret, push the tabs of the bowsprit deck into the slots of hull frame 1, and check that the piece rests directly on the upper portion of the false keel. Spread glue on all points of contact then stick the deck in place. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Photo J shows how the bulkhead will fit in place.

Stage 9 contains: Deck piece, Reinforcements A,B,C, and D. Wooden strips 0.6 x 5 x 200mm
Sand deck pieces as before, then draw a centre line dividing the deck in half. Take the wooden strips 0.6 x 5 x 200mm and cut them into 70mm lengths. Blacken the edges as before and glue the strips to the deck working outwards from the centre line.
Cover the deck completely with planking, when the glue has completely dry turn the piece over and with a craft knife trim away the surplus from around the edges and Re-cut the hole in middle of the deck. Do not remove the planks from the notches at the edges. Sand the surface of the deck and the edges then make pencil marks to simulate the nails in the corners of the planks.
Use a saw to remove the viable parts of the beam under the deck. Make sure that the ends of the beams are flush with the edges of the hatches.
Test fit the deck across the beams then apply wood glue to the beams. Put the deck in place and check that is fully in contact with the glue on the cross beams. Press it down firmly then leave until the glue is completely dry.
With a craft knife separate the pieces A,B,C and D from the fret. Trim the edges and surfaces of each piece with fine sandpaper then turn the model over. Put Glue on Part A and stick it onto the false keel as shown in Step G of the instructions.
Put glue on one side of piece B and stick it to Hull frame 1, as shown in Step H of the instructions. Take piece C, and stick it in place on Hull frame 1 up against piece B. Use a set-square to make sure piece C is at 90 degrees to the hull frame. See inset photo In Step I of the instructions then leave the glue to completely dry. Put glue on piece D, and stick it in place between Hull frame 1 and Hull frame 2, Piece D should be flush with the hull frames and not the False Keel.

Stage 10 contains: reinforcements, False Keel Stern.
Sand all pieces as before take one of the reinforcements and spread glue as per Step B of the instructions. Glue the reinforcement into place at the rear of the false keel. The reinforcement must be flush with the upper edge of the false keel. Keeping the slot fully unobstructed. Use Two clamps to hold the reinforcement in place. Allow the glue to dry completely.
Repeat steps B, C and D, to glue the second reinforcement on the other side of the false keel. Clamp the reinforcement and allow the glue to completely dry.
Spread some glue on both sides of the false keel as indicated in Step F of the instructions then slide it between the two reinforcements as far as it will go. Make sure that the top and bottom are flush with the previous false keel piece. Place clamps to hold the keel. Check that the slots in the keel are aligned and leave until the glue is completely dry.
Take the Sapele strips 0.6 x 5 x 250mm from Stage 8 and cut them into lengths sufficient to cover the bowsprit deck. Measure and mark a centre line on the deck with a pencil. Start glueing the strips onto the bowsprit deck working from the centre line outwards. Leave the glue to completely dry.
When you have stuck the strips onto the first half of the deck, use a craft knife to trim away the excess wood around the edge of the slot following the shape of the deck.
Follow the same procedure to cover the other half of the deck, and trim of excess wood in the slot.
Use fine-grained sandpaper to smooth the deck surface and edges following the grain.

Stage 11 contains: Hull frame 8, Reinforcements, Wooden strip 5 x 5 x 300mm.
With a craft knife remove pieces A,B,C and D from the fret and sand the pieces to remove any imperfections. Also sand Hull Frame 8.
Check that hull frame 8 fits all the way into the slot, mark the position of the frame then remove frame and apply glue. Slide Hull frame 8 into the slot of the false keel. Use a set-square to check the intersections are at 90 degrees then leave the glue to completely dry.
Use a Piece of 5 x 5 x 300mm wooden strip and place on the lower ledges of Hull frame 8. Mark the length with a pencil and cut to length with a saw. Apply wood glue to the lower ledges and stick the beam onto them. Check the beam is flush at both ends of the frame.
Take piece A and fix it in place with wood glue. It must be up against Hull frame 1 and below the bowsprit deck. Take Piece B and spread a thin layer of glue on one side of the piece, fix this in the area as shown in Step G of the instructions. Make sure it's touching Piece A at the top. Take piece C and stick it to hull frame 1 and Piece B, use a set-square to check the piece C is at 90 degrees to Hull frame 1. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Apply glue to piece D, Stick it in place between Hull frames 1 and Hull frame 2. Piece D should be flush with the Hull frames , Not the Keel.

Stage 12 contains: Hull frame 9, Bulkheads, Wooden strips 0.6 x 5 x 250mm, Door.
Sand Hull Frame 9 as before then test fit and mark the position of Hull frame 9 then remove the frame, Apply glue to the Keel then slide Hull frame 9 into the Keel. Check using a set-square that the hull frame 9 is at 90 degrees to the keel. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Place one of the 5 x 5 x 300mm wooden strips on hull frame 9, Mark the length with a pencil and saw off excess. Glue the beam to the lower ledges of Hull frame 9, Check that it is flush at both ends of the frame.
Take the Bulkhead Fret, And cut out the individual pieces as shown , Smooth each piece with fine grained sandpaper, Cut sapelle strips for bulkhead A each stripe should be a little longer than the width of the bulkhead,
Measure and draw a centre line across Bulkhead A and glue the strips on to it working from the centre line outwards in both directions. Allow the glue to completely dry. Turn the bulkhead over and trim the excess wood with a craft knife.
Sand the edges of the Bulkhead to remove any imperfections, Then smooth the surface of the bulkhead with fine grain sandpaper, following the grain.

Stage 13 contains: Hull Frame 10, Deck piece, Door.
Sand the Frame 10 part as before, Test fit and mark frame position. Remove frame and apply glue. Slide in Frame 10, using a set-square check that it is at 90 degrees to the Keel. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Test fit the deck piece onto the frames and keel and adjust the fit as necessary. Then apply glue along the frames. Place the deck piece back into position on the frames and keel, Press deck down firmly. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Prepare a 5 x 5 wooden stripe to fit the ledges of Frame 10. Apply glue to the ledges of frame 10 then place the beam into position, making sure it is flush at both ends of the frame. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Cut four 30mm lengths of 5 x 5mm wooden strip, Glue the four 30mm 5 x 5 wooden strips below the joins of the bottom deck, two on each side to reinforce this area.
Retrieve Bulkheads B and C from stage 12, Measure and mark a centre line on the pieces and cover the pieces with sapelle strips as before. The finished Bulkheads are shown in Step J of the instructions. Smooth them with sandpaper.

Stage 14 contains: Deck Pieces, Wooden strip 5 x 5 x 300mm, Wooden strips 0.6 x 5 x 200mm, Guns, Carriages.
Test fit the two deck halves to make sure they fit properly then remove the deck halves. Apply glue to the Beams of Frame 7,8,9 and 10, as shown in Step A of the instructions. Slide the first half of the deck into place as shown in Step B of the instructions. Insert the other half of the deck between the frames. Lift both halves to join the middle and push down onto the beams. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Cut and glue strips over the central section of the join of the deck. Make sure not to cover the holes in the centre of the deck. Continue planking out to the sides cutting smaller pieces of wooden strip to fill the smaller gaps by the frame. Continue planking the rest of the deck, leaving a gap so you can find the mast hole. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Cut the Strips away from the edges of the square openings and the mast hole, them smooth over the deck when the glue has dried. Then mark the nails in the corner of the planks.

Stage 15 contains: Hull frame 11, Ladder sides, Wooden strips 1 x 4 x 100mm.
Test fit and mark the position of Hull frame 11, remove frame and apply glue to the keel on both sides of the slot and down the centre of the frame. Slide frame 11 into the slot. There is a slot in the centre of the frame that engages with a ridge at the top of the keel. Use a set-square to check this at 90 degrees to the keel. Leave glue to completely dry.
Smooth the entire length of the planking on the deck. Check the nail heads are still on the planks. before proceeding with the next step.
Paint a clear varnish over the main and forward decks and bulkheads. Painting in strokes along the planks, As shown in Step D of the instructions. Once the varnish is dry, use the abrasive side of a sponge to smooth. Repeat steps D an E until you achieve the level of finish you want. Paint Bulkhead A from stage 12 with varnish as well.
Measure and cut Three lengths of 5 x 5 wooden strip to fit onto the ledges of frames 8,and 9,and the lower ledge of Frame 10. Glue Beams into position making sure the beams are flush at the ends of the frames. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Apply glue to the front of Frame 8 then press Bulkhead A, against the front of frame 8, Clamp into position until the glue is completely dry.
Glue The two doors from stage 8 or 13 to the Bulkhead on the rear of frame 4, As shown in Step J of the instructions.

Stage 16 contains: Deck piece, Wooden strips 0.6 x 5 x 200mm, Wooden strip 5 x 5 x 300mm, Gun , Gun carriage.
Prepare the 0.6 x 5 x 200mm wooden strips to cover the deck. Cut the strips to 70mm in length with a craft knife then clamp a few pieces together and use a pencil to blacken the all edges.
Measure and Mark a centre line on the deck the apply glue to the deck piece and start laying planking from the centre line outwards. Continue to plank the whole deck, apply glue to other half of the deck and cover with deck planking. Leave the glue to completely dry.
Turn the piece over and cut away the excess planks from either end and from the holes in the centre. Use a pencil to replicate the nails in the corners of the planks. Use sandpaper to smooth the deck planks and sand the edges of the deck to remove excess from the sides. The deck should now look, as Shown in Step H of the instructions .
Check that the bridge fits correctly on top of frames 8, and 9, and the ledges of 10 and 11, Remove the deck and apply glue to ledges and beams, then place deck back into position. As shown in Step I of the instructions.
Apply Varnish to the decks, Painting in the same direction as the planks.

Stage 17 contains: Deck piece, Wooden strip 2 x 3 x 300mm, Wooden strips 0.6 x 5 x 200mm, Gratings.
Prepare some more deck planking and the smaller deck piece from stage 16. Mark a centre line on the deck starting from the centre line, glue planks to the deck in outwards direction. Cover the deck with planking, Allow the glue to completely dry. Turn the piece over and remove excess planking from the edges. Smooth the surface of the deck piece and use a pencil to mark the nails in the corners.
Apply glue to the front of Frame 10 and the Beam. Place bulkhead B from Stage 3, up against the beam then clamp it in position until the glue is completely dry.
Apply glue to the tops of the beams and place the deck onto them. As shown In Step G of the instructions. Leave until glue is completely dry.
Smooth the deck with sandpaper then paint the surface of the deck with clear varnish.
When the Varnish is dry, Mark and cut another length of 5 x 5 stripe to fit the ledges of Frame 11.
