I have also experienced the same problem at TDC I don't have just a tight piston it is jammed tight even after connecting the pull start. I even tried the one good pull on the starter and the engine seized. I had to disassemble the engine to free it up. and it still required a bit of effort to remove the piston from the sleeve.
