Greetings to all, Time to report and I have Wales vs NIR on in the background for company. As has been mentioned in other builds, the neck guard is another pain in the %$#. To begin with there is just not enough lacing provide if you reserve the 22CM recommended for hanging the mask. Then the 22cm reserved is simply too short to hang the mask!👎☹️ My problem was that these discoveries all happened after the fact. I recommend that you utilize all of the 4mm lacing provided for the neck guards. Cut 5 equal pieces and there will be enough to work with comfortably. Hopefully you have saved some lacing from earlier steps, 4 or 5mm, and you will be able to cut a 28 to 30mm piece to hang your mask. As my photos show I need to fix my lacing. It is NOT mentioned in the instructions that the ears of the mask rest on the top spar of the stand. Use that as a guide for your lacing and I had to pull the lacing to the back of the helmet rest to mount the mask at a good display angle. Check the instruction photos and note the nose is is perpendicular from the stand and that the bottom neck guard rests nicely in the stand shoulder support. This shows good neck guard spacing. Right now you can see some tape securing it, I may notch the helmet rest down the road. (Whew!.👏) I had a hell of a time maintaining my mountains and valleys on the neck guards and finally just did the best I could. ☝🏼Now, when attaching these you will be flipping the mask all around and you may rub off some of the lacquer under the chin in the process. As I did. Consider placing a small piece of low tack tape under the chin to prevent this. That's it for now. On to the gauntlets.😀 File Attachment(s): tnequette attached the following image(s):

Pack 7 is now complete.👏 This pack was quite time consuming, 58 hours approximately over 19 days. All very fussy work; lacing assets, the neck guards and then those rings!😩 I have a good LED magnifying arm lamp and it proved necessary to save my sanity trying to join a those small black parts to more black parts! The knowledge that this has to be repeated does not warm my soul. Oh well, stop complaining and move on... Picture shows tools used and the long nosed pliers and tweezers worked the best but all were used. I liked the warning to work carefully so as not to hurt the finish of the little brass links. Yeah, right! The lacquer is so thin just don't worry, get it all together and use a gloss black paint pen to touch up. Work carefully so as not to touch the metal plates but it is easy. I used pins to keep things aligned rather than toothpicks but it is your choice. Am ready for a couple of weeks off.🙂 tnequette attached the following image(s):

Ian and all, again thanks for all the kind words. Yes, it is big and it is really heavy! Have started Pack 8. Not a lot to comment on so far. The instructions are very good. Just follow them with only one suggestion; iron the creases out of the sleeve front and backing material. It is a lot of busy work and you will stick your thumb a few times but just relax and go a stitch at a time.🙂 The magnifying lens/lamp really helps.👍 ( I forgot to check the Attach Files box so there is a "Delete" message above.) tnequette attached the following image(s):

Finishing this sleeve was an exercise in how to overwork things.☹️ Be sure to SHARPEN the punch. It works well and I will need to resharpen for sleeve two. All was going fine until I started sealing the sleeve. For me, the black backing material supplied was crap, too thin, too fragile and there was nothing to hold any stitches.👎👎 On the next sleeve I will glue down this material prior to folding over the suede border and will skip any effort to stitch the sleeve except for the horizontal line of the leather hand liner. A bit of explanation here is called for, I tried stitching and besides finding the black material nearly impossible to secure, I also learned that the needle did not like to pierce CA glued joined layered material. This also caused me to overhandle the assembly and dirty the border suede. It does not easily clean and you will see it looks worn and still dirty. Be careful not to lap the border material aggressively. Again you will see I ran out of border to punch for lacing the sleeve. The lacing was surprisingly difficult for me as I used an earlier technique of lacing the sleeve loosely and then pulling them taunt. Did not work! Tighten as you go and do not over do it as I did. Not happy here. Attaching the yellow cord to the sleeve's hand and shoulder went well AFTER I enlarged the holes with a round jewelers file. Again I simply overhanded the parts try to feed three layers of cord through one hole. All in all, not my best work but there is another sleeve coming and when Date is finished, I will simply put his left side against the wall!🙂 Tomorrow I hope to attach the finished sleeve to the left shoulder. Looks good to me. As you have already experienced you get better as you do more, really could have done with three sets of arms so you have one to practice on and then make the two good arms up. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Your build has been my Bible and now I see that you didn't even mention or show punching the sleeves or lacing them!!👎
I just hate not doing things correctly (I am a Virgo.😡) I would love a new set of sleeve material but the lacing is not readily visible and shall use deodorant only under the right sleeve.👍
I'm having a good time doing this and enjoy sharing the experience. It would be fun to know how many of these kits have been sold in the States as it sure is different.
