He now that's what I call modelling Deck planking is of a dark wood that 'looks' so much better than the White of our models that is supposed to be "Holystoned" He! interesting Did the Non British Holystone there decks ??
Also notice how the bulkheads are Horizontal rather than vertical on the kit
Be interesting to know who is correct!!

You are free to stain your deck planking walnut or change the wood type.
The model in the link is a representation, it does not mean that it is wholly correct!
A are you also going to carve from wood the individual elements of ships ornamentation to replace the metal ornamentation supplied in the kit?..

For practical reasons the horizontal planking would be more waterproof than vertical hence why sheds are ship lap and not vertical Reg Martyn Building ? Completed. Soliei Royal .
