I have the Tamiya paint from the 1:12 Ducati so it should be fairly straight forward, and it is very small areas. To be honest you don't have to as it can't be seen, it's just I know its there!! lol

Another stunning kit Nem and a great addition to your collection. Will enjoy following your progress as usual...

Hello Alan. It is a lovely kit, although I will be honest, the Hayabusa from Deag is better!
I have assembled the other cylinder and fitted it to the crankcase then joined the two crankcase halves and one side of the casings. Its a fair lump. I will be detailing it by painting in bolt heads and the screws that hold it together, plus any sprue marks where the parts were held. Some of the gaps between the cast parts are bigger than I would have expected, but most wont be seen once more parts are added. Nemesis attached the following image(s):

The more I sit and look at this, the more I don't like it! I am going to take it apart and paint it! The block and heads are way to glossy, the gold parts are a bit too gold and the hoses need to be flat black and the plastic semi gloss!! Plus there are no hose clamps so I need some of those!!

I know what you mean Nem, have retrieved mine from the loft and assembled the block and whilst it's a hefty lump and detailed it just looks a bit too glossy.

I agree Daran, a very nice model, but it looks too much 'out of the box' to me? Needs some subtle washes and dry brushing and definitely some 'texture management' on some of the parts to lift it to the next level!!
Looking good though, well done on your work so far!!

I finally got mine yesterday and just couldn't stop myself, just had to screw the engine together. It's indeed a bit too shiny, I need to look at reference pictures a bit more to decide how to proceed. Maybe a full repaint won't be needed, just a bit of wash and a satin clearcoat? I do not like the grey plastic though and black screws. Will have to do something abou these... My thoughts exactly, although I will be doing a full repaint on the engine and replacing the screws, and any other parts which will probably be all of it!!
