Well its on!! Takom have released 3 versions of the Kingtiger, Porsche Turret and Henschel turret and a Limited Edition 505 Kingtiger. I have pre ordered the 505 version as its going to fly off the shelf! All 3 kits will come with a full and accurate interior and no doubt there will be a flourish of companies producing upgrades.

But wait! What is this? It seems Meng have joined in with a future release of the Kingtiger that may out do Takom! They have enlisted the help of the one and only David Parker of the 1:16 Trumpeter build. His build and the book that goes with it is out of this world.

But it does not end there! Bovington Tank Museum are on board allowing full access to both their KT's, so this is going to be a kit of the highest standard as Meng are producing some outstanding kits, I have their Tortoise kit which I will do a review on.

The battle is on, which is going to be the top KT kit? I will keep you all posted as you KNOW I will have to get the Meng kit when its released, and the Takom is on order so I can review that first! Watch this space peeps!!

Very, very, VERY nice Daran. Bet you can't wait to get your hands on one of those Meng kits?! That book is the business too with so much information inside, what a project that will be and I hope you'll do a build diary in due course when you have the kit?

I must get on and try to push my own 80% built Tamiya 1:35 Kingtiger (Henschel) over the finish line!!

Nice looking kits there. I have never had a Takom kit but they seem to be taking over and bringing out a load of great looking kits. I especially like the look of some of the weird and wonderful vehicles they have chosen.

It does wind me up that manufacturers still cannot get the turet names correct its porche or krupp turtets Henschel made Krupp design turrets under license, Henschel designed the body only

Kits however look fab, i always think the Porche turret looks the best and is a lowere profile than the Krupp turret

Think this is also on my wish list too lol

I have the book in hard back and signed! I got it for when I build my 1:16 KT. Sure it will come in handy for the 35th kits!
