Hello all

Here's a photo of the fuselage using a suitable filler. I don't like the pinheads on show nor the gaps in the panels, so decided to fill them in! When it's finished there will be visible panel lines.

I've had to compromise on the rivets but I have bought some decal type rivets, which
will be a bit of a task to apply but worth it for me.

I have applied a coat of green paint that won't stick to the metal so I can easily identify any discrepancies in the filling and rub down to easily remove it to re-fill if needed.

Comments welcome if you have any,I'm always open to constructive criticism!

Regards.

Alan

You could consider gently running the rivet marking tool along the frame lines which will need to be very carefully done and is time consuming, it will provide rivet indentations which is often replicated on a model aircraft in this way.
This would need to be done before you apply paint. However, as you have overfilled your skin panels with filler, it's probably unwise to consider this route as it will likely burst out the filler, maybe just stay with your idea to use rivet decals.

A couple more photos of the nose filled, smoothed and temporary coat of paint
to filter out any imperfections in the filling.

I am happy with the results, it's taking longer to build doing the filling, but I'm encouraged with the aesthetics now.

Regards.

Hello Alan,

Certainly looks good, nice and smooth finish which will help with the final coat, what sort of base primer did you use.
