Hello everyone. I'm building the McLaren MP4/23 (just finished part 24). I just wanted to compliment the posters on the the general forum, I took the time to read most subjects before the first packages arrived and you guys have helped me imensely in getting started. Thank you! I did make a mess on the front wing struts though, the new ones are inbound. But I've generally been going well.

Retired now in the US and splitting my time between the east coast and the desert southwest. Been away from this "sport" for a lot of years but glad to be back. I'm enjoying the McLaren, and I have a MFH 1/12 Porsche 917 K, a Ferrari 330P4 Berlinetta inbound. The 917 is going to be next. Next summer's project will be a 1/12 Tamiya MP4/6. This is not going to help my a golf game....

Good luck with the build Bill, and welcome to the forum.

The MP4/23 is a great kit and you'll have a lot of fun building it. The only thing I would say to you is be wary of glue residue on your fingers, as if you get an unwanted fingerprint on the chrome paint it is very hard to match the paint when attempting an unseen repair!? Shame your golf will suffer, but it really is a great time to be a modeller with some fantastic kits on the market nowadays as you'll well know with your MFH kits!!

Hi Bill welcome to the forum,
I am forum support for USa so let me know if I can help in any way.I built the Mp 4/23-It is an awesome kit.I have the MFH 1/12 GTO 250.The 4/23 will be a nice break when the MFH kit starts driving you nuts!!! I think the 330P4 is the best MFH kit out there.Have you seen the miniwerks site? There is an amazing buold of a 330P4 on there by a professional modeler.

Hi Bill, welcome to the forum.
The MP4/23 is a great kit to build. It got me started on a whole load of other models. I'm also planning a 1/12 MP4/6 in the new year.
Good luck, Malc.

Gents, thanks for the warm welcome. Kev, I've been careful when handling the silver body parts. Other than the brain spasm in getting a mess of ABS on the front wing struts. So far, what works is using masking tape where I need to grip the panels. I de-adhesive (is that a word?) the tape by sticking it to my clothes a couple of times. Also, for CA glue, here in the US Gorilla Glue has a good product. But the packaging is great. Take off the top cap and you can get drops in a pool to use with a tooth pick or something like that. Take off the lower cap and you get an applicator brush. I trimmed that with a blade - now a former blade - and while it's not quite as good as the Tamiya Thin cement applicator, it's pretty close. If I'm not embarrassed by what I get, I'll upload some pics. Regards,

BillR
