A big opportunity has been missed here IMO.
It's star treks 50th anniversary, we are getting new films and a new series is being made. What a perfect time for an enterprise model. It is the one model I have been waiting for. I would so love a huge enterprise on the wall with all the lights, including those awesome warp coils.
When can we have one?

I agree an Enterprise would be an awesome model. Me personally the preference would be for an NX variant or a D, E or F
I guess it would all come down to the licensing and costs involved with this.

Whereas the falcon had a lift off piece showing a detailed hold, it would be great if the enterprise had a removable piece showing the bridge. I imagine the shapeways lads would go to town on that. As for licensing costs, would it really cost that much more than Star Wars licensing for the Falcon?

Now thats an interesting thought. Have i not seen one of the partworks producers doing mini star trek ship models? Who knows what might come along next. Happy Modelling

Yea, Eaglemoss carries the official ships of Star Trek line. My choice would be the refit Enterprise in the first 2 movies. Don't really care for the TNG versions or the new reboot version. I like the clean lines and upgraded nacelles. I think it was the 1704-A? Don't quote me on that. As much as I like and grew up with Star Trek I am a bigger Star Wars fan by far. Ron Best Regards,

Your wishes could have been granted,as there was a test of a huge Enterprise D,fully lit with internal clear blueprinted decks showing all the individual decks.It was stunning to say the least,with lift out panels showing all the back lit decks.Its been a model Ive been dreaming of making for years. Deagostini no less trialled it in Japan a few years ago.....the very same week the terrible earthquake and subsequent tidal wave hit Japan sadly killing thousands.The sales were extremely disapointing so it was dropped from what I gather. I would've thought it was like the Falcon,it would be a HUGELY popular model both here and abroad.I think it would've gone ahead had it not been for the earthquake and tidal wave that followed,as who would care about a model no matter how great it seems when they have loved ones missing!No suprise sales weren't good! I know theres lots of reasons why a model might or might not go ahead,but from what I've read I couldn't see any other reason for it not getting the green light. I did email Deag a lot (more like pestered) to try and pursuade them to go ahead with this model,putting forward this argument and that,but sadly to no avail as like the huge Falcon,theres just nothing else like it on the market at all. I guess the best option out there at the moment are the large scale versions by polar lights. They did an nx-01 and i think it was the re-fit enterprise. Happy Modelling
