Hi all picked this up cheap at model shop.an thought why not.I made a start to the track base.and so far managed 1 of the 4 railway truck units it sits on.I did reinforce the base with some plasticard, as if was rather springy without them.even in this scale it's 1111mm long, or just under 44 inches in old money. It's 1767 parts and will be a built just out of the box. Cheers mick. mogwai attached the following image(s): Builds hms victory, suzuki gsx 1300 R hayabusa, honda C B 750, lamborghini countach L P 500 S, tamiya 1/16 rc full option tiger 1 tank, built, Mclaren M P 4 - 23. Occre london tram, Stash.airfix 1/24 mosquito. Diag Virginia schooner, tamiya 1/6 honda 750, tamiya 1/35 famo, tamiya 1/35 flak 88.

Mick,
These are one of those kits you look at time and time again. It is so great looking and so significant in artillery history. You want to have it, to build it, to show it off and then: REALITY strikes. Where in the hell will my wife let me display a 4 foot long model in HER house!🙄
Have great fun and i will certainly follow.

Oooh this looks to be an amazing kit and will build into a beast of a model. I was offered the 1/35 scale Dora once at a good price but I just had absolutely no idea where I was going to out it.
Good luck with the build, I'll be following.

I have the 1/35 Dora kit by Soar Art.It is an incredible kit, but the instructions are pretty awful and it is a ton of parts to glue together. It is also really heavy and I am not sure the rail trucks will actually support the weight of the finished gun.I built one truck and then had to pack it away to clear my basement of asbestos

A nice kit you have there Mick and a nice start on the building of it - well done, looking good so far and looking forward to your next update!!
@ Daran - Nice purchase my friend, that'll be a once in a lifetime build, though I think you'd better get your Leopold and the BR-52 engine done first - imagine those two and your 'Dora' displayed end-to-end on the same shelf? Hope you've got a long lounge!!
