Hi Guys & Ladies,

My sister told me a few days ago that she was having my Xmas present delivered to my work, you can imagine my joy and surprise when I was presented with this huge box that contained the Caldercraft Victory! (she had even included the paint set)

So firstly a big thank you to my sister.

What am unsure about is what to do about this Deag build. Despite all the issues I have developed a certain amount of fondness for this build & have already invested a reasonably some of money, but not a huge amount of time.

I can't decide whether to just cancel the subscription and be done with it or to carry on going with it and think about it as a protoype or practice (all be it an expensive one)?

Any (serious) guidence would be appreciated.

Thanks

Wilfy

How about persuading her to change your present for something else, bearing in mind the cost you have already laid out.

Hi,

Thanks for replies.

Couldn't possibly give up the Caldercraft kit now I've seen it. It's gorgeous & I can't wait to drag it all out of the box & have a proper look, but I did promise my sister I would wait until Xmas & wait I shall.

Thanks Karl I must admit I was leaning towards that & think you're right. I work at a school & have considered offering them the finished Deag one as long as it turns out good enough for public viewing! BigGrin

If your new to period ship building, you'll likely find the Caldercraft Victory tough going to the point of struggling, that's not to say dont have a bash, but you'd likley be better off completeing the series Victory or other builds to give you experience and a better understanding of what's required, and not put at risk shelving the Caldercraft build because of struggling with its build.

One heck of a Sister you have there, don't forget to register your kit Cool
