Well done Jim, I'm in the same boat as you, (literaly), I've never built a model since I was a kid, but with a little (lot) of help from the guys on here it's amazing what you can achieve.
If you start a build diary it neednt be anything fancy, just put pics on once in a while with a few comment's, we all like to see each others handywork.Cool
Keep up the good work,

Hi Pall! Cool

Just took a look at your pictures. I found a problem at the stern when you faired the hull you haven't shape the transom, reducing it so that it's flush with the false keel.

Sorry mate to have to tell you this. You will have to remove the planks at the stern and shape the transom correctly then re-plank.

I was amazed no one else spotted this before. It's a good idea to use photobucket or another photo sharing site to post your picture. You could also use this site's Attach files to post? click on the box below as you write your post and follow the step to upload your pictures.

The rest of your work is great, don't feel bad mate, these thing's happen better to fix it now than to leave it!. Your should do a build diary it shows other's your work and people can help spot any problems before it is to late.

Keep up the good work!

In addition to what Bulwark has said, but you'll also need to add a thin strip to the top of the bow planks to bring the planking height to be level with or higher than the top of the bow frames, otherwise you'll end up with a gap when it comes to deck the bow.

Re the bow planking, take a look at photos 8a/8b on page 13 of issue 26, which shows that the final plank at the bow should be level with or higher than the tops of the bow frames.

Re the transom, frame 34 should be sanded so that it follows the line of the stern post, i.e. so that it is flush with the keel and not proud of it, see steps 3/4 of issue 20, your photo shows frame 34 proud of the keel.
