Look forward to further updates.

The PE makes a huge difference to what otherwise would be a bland end result, should look amazing when complete Cool

Thanks all for stopping by and the comments.

The PE is certainly making this so much better, I've still got some seam lines to work on as this doesn't go together very well at all.

I didn't get any done today as I've only just got back from spending the day at Thorpe Park in the sun BigGrin Cool

Some more progress made with this. Im at the stage now where I need to get some primer down and then the deck colour so I can close up the hanger.

Ive added the PE platform in the boat deck as well as more additions to the main super structure.

Ive also made up and prepped various other small additions that need to be added as well as finishing the middle structure that houses the aerial mast.

A quick dry fit shows it really starting to take shape.

I have to say this kit is hard work, its fought me the whole way and as you can see there is a lot of filler required Blink In the first picture you can see where I have had to sand down the top of the wall of the boat deck, this was just to get the roof to fit

Dave

Its looking brilliant.

I must admit that sometimes you question if a kit really needs etch adding but in this case it adds so much wonderful detail to the model I would say it would be hard to do this model justice without it.

Like many people I purchased this model in one of the airfix sales and would like to get a set of these etch parts but not been able to track them down. Hannants does not seem to hold that brand.

Certainly looking very good hope the rest of the build goes well for you.
Happy Modelling

Fabulous work on the etch Dave and I agree with other comments, this Airfix release is crying out for etch parts, even if it's just to drag it up to modern standards as I've read some pretty dire comments in the modelling press about just how basic this kit is and certainly not worth the asking price - even in a sale!!

Looking good well done!! Cool ThumpUp
