Just finished building the Idbox and have gone through setup and calibration, manual testing etc. Works fine manually, triple checked all settings yet after slicing with Cura the printer never receives a start signal to heat up the extruder and start printing. Tried the tip(s) on the U.K. folder and still have same problem. I am running Windows 10 instead of the 7 or 8 mentioned in the magazine instructions. Any ideas?

Have you set the heated bed settings to zero in the Repetitor program as the program will wait until that gets to temp before the head heats up. The settings can be found on the top right 'printer settings' then click on the printer tab to adjust. Many of the newer print downloads automatically set a heated bed figure by default so always check that it is set at zero. Thank you for the quick response, however still doing the same thing. Extruder calling for heat but will not heat up to start the process. Also once you click the "print" button and the manual screen pops up the bed temperature graph still has fifty degrees listed. I have to manually change it to zero. Now the bed icon has a red line through it but still will not run.. Regards Svelterdread

Is your thermistor plugged in properly? When I turned on the extruder heater manually it only took about 1-2 minutes to get to 220 degrees.

Sounds like you may have switched off the heater by mistake, in printer settings at the top are 6 bars with figures, The default extruder temp should be set at the correct temp for the filament you are using the bottom box of the top six called the default heated bed temp should be set at 0 Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

I checked thermistor, it's good and it heats up manually. checked other suggestions and believe I have them right. One thing I don't understand is why it sets "Z" at 15 all of the time unless that's the start until the extruder comes up to temp and then it increases until near touching when printing starts. My tired eyes might be missing an obvious mistake! I have attempted to included screen shots of settings.. Thank you for everyones assistance Svelterdread

Hi, Sorry im late getting back to you but I see your using one of the download programs from the Printer page. At the moment we seem to be having some problems with these and its being looked in to so I will get back to you on those. I used the Pumkin program on the link below just scroll down until you see it:- http://www.sweethome3d.com/freeModels.jsp
You can see a video of my IDBOX printing the Pumkin here:- http://forum.model-space...spx?g=posts&t=19528
Try the above program and see what happens then get back to me. Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

I figured out the problem, my laptop originally had older operating system upgraded to Win 10. With the upgrade not all of the drivers are upgraded and that stopped the recommended software from working. Once I went and upgraded all of my drivers the software works but with a couple of quirks. What type of nozzle does the ID BOX use? Is the nozzle compatible with Makerbot or other type? A MK-10 0r -8 J type? I want to order spares on Amazon as they're very inexpensive and like to have a back up....also if there's any info on the cartridge heater as this is also a must have for the spares kit. Thanks Svelterdread

We're unable to confirm what is compatible, but you may be able to order the spares you need via sales@model-space.co.uk. Simply quote the stage number which contains the part/s you need.

what is the resistance value of the thermistor? From what I can find out a common value used in other 3d printers is 100k. Can someone measure theirs and let me know I need to replace mine as it was acting up since new. I can get a replacement quick from amazon (2days) .. Thanks

I dont have that information.I can help you get a replacement thermistor from Model Space USA if you send me a PM. I would be very leery of putting in a different thermistor than the one designed for the idbox.
