Could someone please provide me with the dimensions of Parts no 5 (Flat wire) as seen in pack 13, pdf 13 - step 148 and 151 My Parts no 5 (Flat wire) were missing and its been a while now since asking for replacement, I would like to get on with the build so decided to order some styrene strips but don't know the thickness of the metal, I know the width is about 2mm but cant get the thickness from the plan. I would be most appreciative if someone could provide me with this information. all the best Dave Ship Builds on the go

Hi I replaced all the wire provided for the degausing strip with evergreen styrene .020 x .040 [0.5 x 1mm]. It looks great on my build and is the correct shape, TBH I never fancyed trying to straighten all that rolled wire. The Flat roll is made of lead and is around 2 mm wide you could replace it with sticky backed sheets of fishing lead and just cut it to the correct width or Use 2mm styrene tube cut to length and then cut down the middle. The scuppers were semi-circular in shape on the real ship so the tube works well for this. Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Cheers Andy, but do you know the thickness of the flat metal. I haven't used any of the wire supplied with the kit, would spend far too much time trying to straighten it. all the best Dave Ship Builds on the go

Tomick wrote:It's 0.5mm thick That's shocking, I thought it would have been at least 1mm thick! oh well after trying o.5. o.75 and 1mm I went with 0.75. it had the best overall effect of matching the photographs of the real thing. Thanks for the help. Ship Builds on the go
