Hi How far up the Bow does the Garboard plank go as i cant quite see from Tomick's build  ? Allan

Do not bend the plank to follow the curve of the keel, but allow it to run straight on. have a look at his picture and you can see its around frame 13 and 14, which is about right.

When fitting the garboard plank DO NOT allow it to curve up the stem piece as in figure 15A inset, keep it flat and straight. This is important, if allowed to curve up this will cause crowding of the following planks to the extent that numerous drop planks will need to be fitted. Drop planks are dealt with under their own separate heading later in this project.Best advice is to keep test fitting and take your time.

thanks i got all that bit  it was the terminating shape at the bow end i was confused about  and where to cut the surplus plank off but i think now the plank is cut on the false keel side of the plank Thanks all Allan

Might be best you wait until you get hold of issue 36 which has lots of step-by-step photos of the process.
