Hi Guys and Gals
I'm sorry I should have asked this question when I was asking about the
matte Varnish, but when do I apply the varnish to deck. before or after it is glued to the beams thank you

Whatever suits you really. I always stain and varnish my decks before fitting if I can. You'll be doing it in stages though so just make sure you know how many coats you use and keep it all the same. Varnish doesn't matter as much as stain though. There's no real noticeable difference between 1 or 2 good coats in my experience.

Hi Rob
thanks for your input but I didn't it was suppose to be stained before you covered it with matte varnish all I read was to cover the simulated deck with a matte varnish I don't have a stain to put on first

Hi Ronald, it really depends on what finish you prefer. You can just varnish the planks as they are or if you want a darker finish then you can stain them first with whatever colour you prefer - light oak, dark oak etc. It is always a good idea to test the stain on some scrap planking first to see if the finish is what you want and the more coats you use the darker it will get.
