Thanks everyone Test fitting the parts that go under the platform.It is still quite a tight fit.The mounting holes for the batteries and tanks are drilled.Next step is to finish the tanks with a gloss coat,attach the gauges to them and mount those first and then the batteries,feeding the wires through the base to the control boxes. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

Thanks guys. There is a fuse panel that sites under the platform on the left side of the machine. The kit has a poorly molded piece so I decided to make one from scratch using some basswood.I made the panel and then used resistors which I sprayed with brass paint and red tape to make the fuses and then I used small nails to replicate the terminals that the fuses attach to. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

Very nice indeed Carl, love the combination of the stained wood and the brass, with the copper parts it all looks very Victorian and suitably antique. Very pleasing on the eye!!

There is a brass railing around the platform.The kit has brackets for the railing ,but you have to supply the railing yourself.I decided to use thick copper wire which I can bend to match the outline of the platform.I sanded the brackets so they fit onto the platform.next step is to bend the wire, fit it into the brackets and paint it all brass color. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

Thanks everyone.More work on the rail.The copper wire is quite easy to bend, but the rail shape is a bit complex so I decided to make a guide so I could get all of the bends right.I threaded on 3 of the rail holders because once the copper is bent I wont be able to thread them all the way on.I traced the outline of the platform and used nails to hold the copper to match the curve of the platform.The next step will be to test fit this onto the platform and trim the ends.There are metal balls on the end of the rails on the movie prop and I will be using wooden beads to replicate this. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

Cheers Phil, I test fitted the rail to the platform.It needed a bit of fettling to get it to fit.I glued the brackets to the rail and the wooden beads on the end.Next step is to remove the rail and paint it brass colored and then refit and glue it to the platform.
