I'll try the AlClad route I think. I just sprayed another Tamiya metallic for another kit (Zoukey Mura P51) and it too came out as a bunch of speckled glitter. Seems like if they sat too long they're done for and no amount of mixing will revive them.



I find the Tamiya paints grainy as a general rule.They do get really gooey too if they sit for a while.Cant beat Alclad for real shine-its just a pain to use.

At this point I'm thinking the extremely hot summer did them in. They were not this fuzzy before.

I just grabbed a bunch of Model Air metallics off the local art supply shop and it looks like they'll do the job just fine. Also going to look at Alclad later, but for these parts I don't need any shine.

yes the typical USA humid summer weather doesnt do my acrylic painting any good
