Hello everyone. I am Alan from Newcastle in the U.K. and I've just received my first pack of the HMS Victory. This is the first model I have attempted, so it is with great trepidation that I make a start. The instructions seem clear enough but I have always been hopeless at working with wood. I will just have to be patient and take my time but I am looking forward to learning as the build goes on. Please be patient with me if I ask what appears to be a stupid or obvious question, but we all to start somewhere. Thank you, Alan. Today is the tomorrow you wished for yesterday!

Warm welcome to the forum Alan, hope you enjoy your build and your time with us... You won't find a better forum out there for beginners, we're here to give you as much help as you need to ensure your build is a success... I would recommend you study the Official Build and the Official Video build, these will give you a wealth of information. Would also suggest you post a build diary, that way we can keep track of your progress and hopefully intervene if we see anything that will cause you problems further down the line... Take your time, enjoy the experience and good luck with it.... Regards Alan

A big thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome. I have been looking at the official build and watching the videos. Most important, with the hospitality shown here I am sure that I will be able to complete the build and move on to other projects. I have been bitten by the modelling bug. Thanks again for your welcome and offers of help. Alan Today is the tomorrow you wished for yesterday!
