Hello Mr T, can you please post a picture of the stern planking on your build. My build follows yours pretty closely but some of the planks on the stern/transom have required a lot of tapering. The first three layers of planks were fitted without to much trouble (ignore the bending) then the next two layers required tapering to about 2.5mm.Have I dropped a clanger, if so now is the time to rectify, or is this one of the possible scenarios? Many thanks for any advice you can offer CMB Many thanks for promt reply. Pictures attached as requested CMB CMB attached the following image(s):

For many reasons the hull planking will differ from build to build, certainly the transom planking needs considerable tapering, it would be better if you could post a photo of what you might think is a problem with your build.

Continue to taper as you go, and make sure each plank end reaches the transom otherwise you going to have to fill any shortfall.

I have after looking carefully at the pictures I submitted decided to strip back the planking and modify the fairing around the stern to allow the planks to reach the transom. This has produced a much softer curve which should be easier to plank. Once again many thanks for your advice. CMB
