I did a review a few weeks back about the up coming Kingtiger kits from Takom and Meng. Takom were the first to release theirs with 3 versions, Porsche turret, Henschel turret and a Limited Edition Pz.Abt.505 Henschel turret with Zimmerit. After building the Takom MkI male I was so impressed I pre-ordered the Limited Edition KT and it arrived today.

First impression is the size of the box, for a 1:35 KT its huge, 375mm x 250mm x 125mm and it is literally packed with sprues!
The parts are usual Takom standard and on par, if not better than Tamiya. Crisp moulding, superb detail and no flash at all and no sink marks that I can see, and if there are any they will be really east to fill. Individual track links that snap together, and from experience with the Takom tracks they are so easy to make up and really detailed. There is some really nice pe to go with this kit and there are loads of decals. The instruction booklet is glossy and well laid out and is not far off war and peace!LOL Mind you with a full detailed interior and engine bay I am not surprised!
So I await the Meng offering so I can compare them. I have built meng kits and they are also superb, it will be an interesting battle of the KT's!BigGrin

Looks very nice Daran, I'm sure you'll be itching to get started on this Takom kit as soon as possible, or the Meng one when it arrives ... or BOTH at the same time!! LOL

I've been waiting to see what this would be like and I had a sneaky feeling you wouldn't pass this one up LOL

It does look like a very nice kit indeed, Takom have certainly been making a name for themselves, I have their Cheiftan and the parts are simply stunning Cool

Will be interesting to see how the Meng offering compares
