Whilst I am waiting for the paint on the rail to dry I started some of the structures on the platform. On the left side above the generator there is a wooden box with some jars in it. The parts are cast resin and since the box is wooden I decided to scratchbuild the box.The jars have a green fluid in them and they are provided as clear parts in the kit so I painted them with Tamiya clear green.

On top of the box are some parts that are metal and copper-namely copper contacts. These are again cast as one piece of resin.I am going to use some of the resin parts and then scratchbuild the contacts using thin copper sheets.

The box will now be stained to match the plaftorm.

Ten green bottles standing on the wall.Ten green bottles standing on the wall. You know the rest.

I have sprayed the jars with Tamiya clear green, stained the box they go in to match the platform, added the terminals on top of the jars.next step is to add the wires that go from the terminal to the top of the box and fit the copper contacts to the top of the box.

I also started test fitting the frame that the box of jars sits on.next step is to paint that and start building up the structures on top of the platform.

I have also started working on the time rings. These are the structures that hold the glass petals that spin around. There are three posts that attach the rings to the ball. There has been some shrinkage of the resin parts and the fit is not that great.I was hoping to be able to assemble the posts and ball separately to make painting easier, but I will need to add filler where the ball attaches to the posts.

There is also a central piece on the rings that is too small so i will have to scratchbuild a mount for the piece.

The kit does not come with any rods so I will be using brass tubing to connect the 2 rings.

OK so the box holding the jars is finished. On the movie prop there is a bulb on the front of the box. This is not included in the kit.Who do you make a tiny bulb?

I used a gelatin clear capsule. These are used to put compounded medications in.I used that for the glass of the bulb and a piece of copper wire for the filament and plastic discs for the base.
