Progress a bit slow, but finally come to the end of pack 2. I'm all deck planked out now BigGrin

Liked the doors, but just picked the bolts out using Tamiya gold leaf and a toothpick. The pic makes the deck look oddly dusty when it is not!

Hi Rob, Very nice planking, looks awesome.
Just a quick pointer Blushing about the planks on the forecastle, you have cut out the corners at the front for the ribs. This needs to be planked completely. Best way to get around it is to add a couple of strip off cuts there to look like it's planked.

Chris
On the bench

1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Have you seen the finished model? It looks to me like that area will be covered anyway by the front rail. I'll go through all the instructions to check.

Hi Rob, Yes I have seen the finished model as a matter of fact.
I was just pointing out that you had made a simple mistake. Here are a couple of pics of the instructions.

Cheers Chris. I weren't being funny when I said have you seen the finished model. I certainly haven't, I just thought the tops of those ribs would be covered and it does seems like the catheads cover them. I will add a couple of strips just in case. Shouldn't take me long.

Rob

You are doing a very nice job on your build and i hope it continues well for you.

Very envious of your workspace which must be wonderful. I have to try and grab the kitchen table to use which does limited me somewhat (spend half my time having to set up and then clear away).

Look forward to your next updates.
Happy Modelling

Some more progress. Finished the decks and transom now. Stained the transom walnut as I would like it to match the inside of the gunwhales which will also be walnut as per instructions. Also added strips to the forecastle to correct the error as good as possible that Chris pointed out.

Yes mate, but it's on the back burner atm while I do this. I also have the upgraded brass parts for it, so I need to wait until I get an airbrush for those.

Titanic is another lovely model. As you say the additional brass parts are such a lot better than the printed card pieces that came with the actual partwork. Although i did see on some web site or other that the builder had thinned the window sections from the card parts and then stuck them to the back of the brass parts - looked pretty good as well.

Hope the building continues well.

Great work Rob. Coming along real nice. I like it when builds differ from each other. It shows individuality.

Well done
