I am doing the cornices - a very fiddly and repetitive task I must say. I find that I am making some compromises in step 9. In magazine photo it shows the beak with vertically arranged gold strips. Where the upper planking of the beak meets with the hull I do not have a vertical join - same with the left hand edge of this plank. In my photo you see that I have compromised a bit with this when positioning the gold painted strip. I will have to do the same with the left edge of the upper planking of the beak - it is nowhere near vertical. I suppose I could cut a bit off to make it more vertical.

My question is: how important is it to make these cornices appear vertical?

How do I attach this picture Cursing !!!

Hi Simon, from what I can see I would say the problem is purely aesthetic, the gold upright strips should be vertical so I'd be trimming. As for your picture problem, for me I find the easiest method of uploading pics is to follow the information contained in the attached link.....

When posting photo's you should ensure you adhere to the requirements outlined within the forum rules....

Hope this helps..
