Hi all and thanks for looking in:

Todays Update.

Only limited progress this week being half term and three grandchildren to amuse but I have assembled the Occre Portable Workstation. I have given it three coats of Ronseal Mahogany Satin and I love it BigGrin Perhaps now on occasion I can work at the kitchen table and not feel so isolated, yet very quickly be packed up and away.

I've painted the anchor stock and given it thread bindings. Wasn't happy with the first bindings looking "sort of fluffy" so before redoing I ran the thread through some beewax and am much happier with the look.

Hi all and thanks for looking in

Todays Update:

The first two cannons have been painted and assembled. Only another 98 to go.

I am now going to lay down in a darkened room for a while.Blink Blink

All joking aside I wouldn't even have considered a build of my own without this forum.

Thanks everyone: I am so loving this Love Love Love

I love the workstation, work in progress and what I'm using both close at hand.

The two cannon just completed have now gone into storage, I wonder when they will see the light again.

Hi all and thanks for looking in:

Todays Update:

I have assembled the anchor with it's slightly larger ring and added some puddering? This will now go into storage with the cannons, might have another go later.

Thanks all for the thumbs up on what I'm doing, I'm checking out everyone's builds and reading as much as I can trying not to mess up.

With all the support and encouragement I'm getting from everyone I know you guys will keep me on track.

I now have 6 weeks to wait for my next pack of parts so time for me to start considering bulsa and how it's going to be planked. Confused

All the best:

BigGrin I would definitely fill the bow with balsa fillers Nige as it will help with getting a good flow to the planks Cool

Thanks Martyn, I will definitely be filling the bow and stern. Considering the amount of twist the rear planking undergoes I wouldn't contemplate otherwise. What I'm wrestling with at the moment is the need to bulk out the whole hull or not. Perhaps if there were more bulkheads no one would but then there's not so?

The second issue weighing heavily on my mind is the actual planking, it's not as on an "Admiralty Type Model" and to my uneducated eye looks so different.

BigGrin Hi Nige I must admit I only filled the bow and didn't find any problems along the rest of the hull . The best planking I have seen is Alan's build as he has put hook joints on the steelers and they look brilliant. Hope this helps rgd Martyn
