Hi Walter,

I must say very well done with your build so far, if it is any help I used 2mm blocks on mine for the very same reason and it worked out fine, have a look a CMB website.

Hi Walter.
Your build is coming along nicely. Doing a fantastic job.
The blocks can be cumbersome in there size. You can buy smaller from CMB then get a couple of foam sanding pads and eoll the blocks in between them to round them off.
As for the rope hair. Dilute wood glue is good but don't wet too much or rub it in as it looks false. I used both methods of wood glue and bees wax block. I found the wood glue the better and a lot easier to do when in place.

Chris
On the bench

1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Hi Walter

Lovely job you are doing on your build i must say. Always difficult when you get down to the very tiny details.

Depending on how many blocks you are looking to shape thats a great suggestion you have above from Chris. In addition to that cmb now stock a model shipways tool that is supposed to do the same thing with the use of a drill.

Its called block buster high speed block shaper.
