I have both of the books quoted above and they are both excellent, a lot of people are recommending Longridge's book "The Anatomy of Nelson's Ships" but I can't comment on that one as I don't have it yet. I'm not sure that there is a definitive book so a combination of different ones will probably be best.
Regards,

David

Hello mate, I would have to say Anatomy Of The Ship The 100 Gun Victory By John McKay, I got my copy from Ebay.

I picked this book up from the Royal Navy museum shop at portsmouth via an internet sale. It arrived this morning and I have to say it is remarkable in its content specific to the Victory. A book well worth investing in for this particular build. The author is careful to say though, that he would frown on any reproduction of the pages...

Also picked up a copy of this from Amazon (well actaully Cancer Research trading via Amazon) but I paid £15 plus P&P. Looks like this could be getting more expensive as demand from us lot grows!

So far only flipped through the pages but it looks really excellent.

Hi,

Another useful book is Period Ship - kit builders manual by Keith Julier. It has a lot of useful information, and gives you plenty to think about whilst waiting for your next issue.

Good luck.

Just received this morning "The 100 Gun Ship VICTORY" by JOHN McKAY from Amazon cost £15.50 with free delivery. Looks an excellent book lots of plans and drawings that will assist me in the model build. Well worth the investment.

My copy of Anatomy of the Ship: The 100 Gun Ship Victoryarrived this morning, and to be honest, it was well worth the price, the detail of the drawings and information is an absolute must for someone wanting to learn all about her while building her, it also has details on all the belay pins and ropes, so you can now name each rope you will be working on Blink that's if I can remember them BigGrin
There is also some good drawings of the cannons and launches.

Best wishes
David
