First aircraft build, its been a long, hard but still fun build. Its not perfect and have learnt a lot along the way.

Hope you enjoy Cool

Thank you all for your comments BigGrin

I'm already looking at my entry for the 2017 build and deciding if I should go for another aircraft. Still got a while to decide yet. Cool

Excellent work Dave, thank you for posting, I love the paint finish you have achieved on this model.

Not a spot of glue to be seen.

Hi Dave

Nice model, nice finish!

The phantom was based at RAF Bruggen, Germany. I was living there (as a kid)and have fond memories of this aircraft.

We had a velux type window so when the aircraft were flying around I had a good view!! Those were the daysBigGrin

My brother-in-law made a 1/24th scale Phantom (at least I think he did) and would love to make one but cant find it now!!

Regards.

Great build. It makes me quite nostalgic as the Phantom was the first model kit I made when I was about 10.

Thanks Alan & Michael Cool

Alan, this one is based on the Air Defence rapid response Phantom of 19 Squadron that was based at RAF Wildenrath when my dad was stationed there. He was actually in the Army, 21 Signals.

I have lots of found memories of seeing these when I was a kid Cool
