Looking at the plans last night I now know why she only carried 64 guns she hasn't got a four castle which is quite unusual for that time as all the Royal ships had them Cool

BigGrin Thanks for the comments guys Cool

A small update on the Wasa

The bow hasn't got bulkhead formers as its made out of a block of wood that needs carving I had a go but it's as hard as rock so I have replaced them with balsa fillers as its easy to cut and sand Cool while they dry I started planking the main deck. Iooking at the reference pictures I have the pattern looks a bit random with a very strange shift Confused it looks like bodgit and scarper has done it LOL it starts off OK but gets a bit confused as it goes towards the stern Confused
I will have to see if it looks ok as in a small scale it might look naf Blushing

BigGrin cheers for looking rgd Martyn

BigGrin Hi all just a small update Cool

I have finished planking all the decks Cool

Next step carving the bow fillers to get the right profile I exchange the wooden ones and made ones out of balsa as its a lot easier to carve and sand Cool once finished I made a bow deck out of 1.5mm ply as there wasn't one in the kit . I had to lower the bow formers by the thickness of the bow deck so it stayed the right hight . Once fitted and planked next job the doors and deck furniture.
These are preformed but need sanding and then planked with 1+2mm walnut strip

The ones on the bow where fitted first and while they were drying started planking the other ones for the different decks Cool

Next up trimming and sanding the door fittings Cool

Thanks for looking rgd Martyn

BigGrin Thanks for the comments Tony . It is a bit more complicated than most builds as everything has to be measured against the full size plan and then transferred to the model so it's measure twice mark once, it's a bit of a faff but it's very satisfying Cool

Thanks for looking rgd Martyn

The bulkheads are marked with a notch so you can lineup the planks trouble is that they are not in the proper line for the gunports so I have used the one to one plan for marking them out Cool
