hi john i think your talking about the extra pieces of wood on the left and right of the ports...there the gallery supports that you can see on all builds that are as far along as mine and not door hinges,there supposed to be thereBigGrin see pic

Looks like you fooled them with the gallery supports, fancy thinking they were doors. Laugh With the test paint on you can still see the edge of the planks that’s good, I bet you’re glad!

yes darron i am, as you know the vic is 250 years old and planked so that was important for me to be able to see the lines.if its just smooth it will look odd.the first planking is glued on the edges as well as the back so when sanded you wil get a smooth flat finish..just my opinion...cheers paul

hi all,i have started my veneer, its going ok now i have got the hang of it,bit of a shaky start..the veneer is 0.5x5mm walnut...i have learnt alot from doing this ie the dropper planks which i didnt do on the first planking cause i knew i was second planking
