BigGrin Hi all

Carrying on with the cockpit detailing a couple of coats of interior green and some dry brushing. More detail then added to the cockpit area using the pre colored front panels to the various electronic boxes, fuselage sides and main instrument panel. More soon.

Some superb detail in this build Andy, sometimes seems a real shame to fit it in the fuselage. Nicely weathered with the dry brushing, gives some depth to all the panels.ThumpUp BigGrin

BigGrin Hi All

More done on the cock pit that more or less finishes this part of the build. Added the fire extinguisher and the kit also includes the 3 relief pipes in case they needed to p on a long flight. The seat belts were next added to the seats and they were finally fitted to the cockpit along with the two sides and as you can see all that detail is still visible and will be still seen when the canopys are fitted.

Next I started on the forward crew hatch area placing the fold down steps in place and the first of the pre-cast weights that will keep that nose wheel on the ground. The kit gives you the option of metal or plastic undercarriage legs I opted for the metal and assembled the front leg as shown. The leg is not glued in place as yet it was placed in position and the mounting holes used as a jig to keep everything straight. The front resin wheel has been prepared ready for painting and has just the right amount of weight on it. I have now started preparing the lower four guns ready for painting and fitting to the fuselage.

More soon.

Very nice work Andy, an impressive amount of detail in that cockpit and you've made a good job of it - well done. Cool ThumpUp

BigGrin Hi All

The under fuselage 20mm guns have been fitted and the aftermarket barrels added, next the nose leg section was added. Once all wass in place the fuselage sides were fixed to the cockpit assembly. Dont forget to add another nose weight to the front before the halves are joined or you wont get it in. The ruler in the pictures is 300 mm long so it gives an idea of the size of this beast.

The fuselage top was added next this is supplied as a clear/frosted part hence the interior green color showing through. The after market resin nose thats slightly longer than the 'A' version prevents the radar dish assembly being fitted into the aircraft but their is a clear/frosted part with the kit that I can fit it in to show as a separate piece. two more weights that are part of the radar dish were epoxied into the resin nose. She now has a good deal of weight at the front to stop her sitting on its tail.

The radomes on the real aircraft were made from plexiglass and the one provided has the masking lines marked. It was soon discovered that the radar worked wether the radome was painted or not so most ended up being painted.

Next to be fitted was the greenhouse glass each part being masked off before fitting with a clear plastic glue. I have also made up the remote upper gun bucket with four machine guns again using the after market barrelsDrool Drool Drool .

More soon.
