It took a bit of head scratching and a lot of help from Johncal (fair play to him) but i seem to be making decent ropes each time now - hes right you need to attach a drill because you will be there for hours making one rope. But i have not yet found the need to rebuild it out of plastic and i am using 5 strand ropes on the shrouds. - that i think depends on personal preference of what fits your model.

If you need any help set it up and get in touch - im more than willing to help if you want to pm me it might be easier to go through it by phone no probs m8.

First of all, congratulations. What a good work!

I read your comments on the figurehead. AL's one looks like the Frankenstein's creature. Tomorrow I'll post a few pics of mine. It may be helpful for you and other friends.

Went down to Portsmouth today with one of my sisters - how interesting and overwhelming to see such history had a great time - will post a couple of pics - part of bucket list . Going to now set a jig for the dead eyes and start the shrouds on my Surprise here we go with the rigging updates to follow and not feeling too bad at mo.

Ant, Looking forward to your Photos of Pompey Dockyard. If you're like me, it will be of random fittings like Eye-bolts, cleats, bulkheads and deckheads...etc.( as well of the bigger stuff!)
