cheers for the feedback Phil must admit cutting gunports isn't my favourite job but luckily this ship only has two decks and not three but now the fun starts as I love planking as you can see the lines of the hull coming together Thanks for following Rgd Martyn Building ? Martyn That looks really good. From what i can see those wood strips you are using look good quality. Hope thecrest of your planking goes really well. Been looking at my Revenge again with a view to doing a little more over the weekend but at that awkward stage on the planking. Happy Modelling

Thanks for the comments Tony The wood is absolutely superb to work with and is so easy to cut. The second planking is even better with three types of wood Thanks for looking rgd Martyn Building ? Thanks guys for looking in and the brilliant comments finally finished the first planking on the lower hull I must admit it's been a struggle as the shape of the hull is very strange with a flat almost barge like hull at the bow going to a wineglass shape at the stern Now onto the upper hull . I have planked one side now just letting it dry over night as it needs trimming down to the bulkheads Cheers for looking rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? cheers for the brilliant comments Greyhawk It has been a bit of problem planking this ship as the lack of information in the instructions don't make it easier plus dear old Corel has missed out one gunport on each side at the bow so will have to cut them out Still on the plus side the Sol will be a doddle to plank Cheers for looking rgd Martyn Building ? Very nice work, she should look a treat after a good sanding Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Thanks for the comments Del Dave and Andy Once the other side is finished its going to get a darn good sanding then on to the second planking Not to sure whether to cut out the missed out gunports and have them open or have them shut the only problem with them open is there aren't enough cannons so will have to make them along with the lids and lion carvings . Will have to have a think about it Rgd Martyn Building ? Completed. Soliei Royal . Sovereign of the Seas . Virginia . Scotland . San Felipe . Martyn That looks brilliant and on top of that it gets a second coating of planks i think anyone achieving that level of planking as a first layer would be well happy (i would). Once it all gets sanded down its going to look fantastic and you then have a fantastic base onto which to add all those lovely extra detail bits and pieces. Happy Modelling

Superb job on the planking on what looks like a complex hull.Corel kits are very high quality in my experience.

Thanks for the comments Tony and Carl . You certainly can't knock the quality but the instructions are pants I think the guy who wrote them hadn't even seen the kit ie they say use the 1.5-5mm planks once planked fix the second planking onto the top, well cheers for that it's certainly not a kit for the first time builder Thanks for following rgd Martyn Building ?
