Hi Everyone Happy New Year,

Well its back to the building scene now that all that fun is over!

MY first question of the new year is:

As I intend to copper the lower part of the hull, how good a finish does it need to be? what I mean is as long as it is complety covered and solid would it make a difference???

hope you get what I mean! BigGrin

The copper sheathing will start beneath the lower wale, which is approx 18mm below the lower gun ports; Therefore the wood beneath the lower wale will not be visible if sheathed, but the wood surface should be smooth,(free of planking gaps, high/low spots etc); Not forgetting that the curved stem at the same level, 3/4 stern post and 3/4 of the rudder are also sheathed.

Thanks Mr T, thats waht I thought but I'd thought I'd better ask first!! so as long as everything is smooth and even, a bit of filler wont matter !! lol,

Any Ideas on when the copper sheathing will be available and a ££££ yet?? only hoping ! lol LOL

Hi Russ,

Here's the low down - For those not wanting to undertake the laborious task of copper tiling, at around issue 57 copper paint will be supplied as part of the series, which will be enough to coat the hull twice.

For those wanting to take on the task of copper tiling, at the same time, a copper tiling pack will be made available via the online shop, no info on price as yet.
