did you fix the landing legs with magnets, or did you just glue them in to place?

i have reached that stage now.

to answer the question you had in the tb2 build topic regarding if its the same as the 1/144 takara that was released: yes, yes it is.

i was trying to find the instructions for that build and its exacly the same. But you do get the nice book with information. oke, its in japanese :D but the pictures are nice and makes it complete.

That's excellent. My wife has offered to buy me one for Christmas to go with Thunderbird 2. I might have to take her up on her offer Laugh.

Not sure. Last time I did that it didnt go that well.

Any idea what the best way is to do it?

I find that Klear is brilliant for this. It can be bought from most supermarkets and costs relatively little. I use a wide flat brush to apply it although it can be airbrushed.

Really pleased to see the forum up and running again. My Aoshima Thunderbird 1 arrived today, it’s my wedding anniversary present from my wife 😀. I notice that the painting instructions would have you paint the bulk of the fuselage silver or Light Gull Grey depending on which version modelled. Silver is definitely too bright, even when dirtied down. I don’t use Alclad, do folks have any opinion on Tamiya Metallic Grey as an alternative?

I used Humbrol rub and buff (metalcote) steel when I did mine some years ago.
It's a nice really dull silver unless you buff it - I didn't.
