I know, this question is getting old. But every time I ask it, I get all the other answers except to the main question.
I know the paints must be acrylic now. Does anybody know where I can get the correct paint shades in Cape Town? Which hobby shop sells those shades, and where are they?
I know of Clown's hobbies in milnerton, they do sell a few, but mostly the matte shades. The guy behind the counter looked baffled when I asked for Yellow Ochre, and Dull Black.
Please help?

Hi Gan, I was unable to locate the correct paints in Cape Town so I ended up buying the set from Cornwall models. Once the tansaction was processed, they airmailed it to me and I picked it up at the post office. No hassles at all.

I see that the victory paint set is currently unavailable.
How long after your order was placed could you collect the paints at the PO.
Also, I'm getting the toolkit from the subscription. Are there any other tools, fillers (not sure what it is, my first wooden model), or anything that you would advise me to order from them as well?
Francois

Francois, I had to wait about a month or so. Since I was going to pay the airmail charge (GBP 60 I think) I ordered some brushes, 500ml Aliphatic (sp?) glue as well as a tub of filler. I'm hoping to get the toolkit as part of my next subscription delivery as well.

Jeez. That's like R600?! Even if the paint set is only like GBP30? Airmail is bad, so will do something similar lol. And the post office send you a paper when it's ready?

Most artist supply shops will sell a huge selection of aycrilic paints, normally in tubes not sure if we will be able to use them but worth a try,the tamiya paints from the model shops are good as well,i've got a flat black sure that it may work instead of dull black go on their website and get a color chart or list then the model shop should be able to order the colors you want they probably don't stock all the available colors,i will be interested to hear how you get on as i am also planning to paint my Victory regards Trev If my ship is going down...i'm bloody well getting off
