Thanks Everyone. No morlocks with this one!!! The Time Machine is finished. This model is based on the 2002 remake of the classic HG Wells Time machine story. The movie prop was the most expensive prop ever made at the time and it actually did move and as such was quite dangerous to be near. The movie was not that great, although the special effects were quite spectacular. The story was changed quite a bit. The model kit was designed by Randy Cooper, a professional modelmaker that has worked on some very big movies (Terminator). The master took him almost 2 years to build mainly because pretty much everything had to be scratchbuilt.Randy sent the master to masterpiece models and they cast the kit in resin. The kit consist of about 300 parts and comes with vague instructions (mainly photographs of the build). You have to supply wood and metal parts to complete the build and it is quite a complex build. I replaced the resin platform with a scratchbuilt wooden and scratchbuilt and/or added detail to many of the remaining parts. As with most garage kits it required extensive clean up of parts and frequent test fittings. I used wood stain for the platform ,spray can for the brass paint and Testors gold for the computer and some other parts.I also used Acrylic paints for the chair and the batteries.I airbrushed some of the paints and hand brushed others. I used mainly 5 minute epoxy and superglue for assembly. The final model is quite heavy and quite delicate. This is by far the difficult and ambitious model I have ever built and it stretched my modeling skills to the max.Total build time was about 350 hours. Anyway just in time for the deadline here is my finished 2002 Time Machine model for the 2016 build competition.Good luck to all of the other competitors. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

This is amazing build Carl. I have been following your journey with it from the very start, even if I not always commented, I was always quick to have a long look at every update. I won't be alone saying that I learned a lot just by looking at your progress. Also, I don't have any second thought about who gets my vote in the build of the year competition :-) Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.
Happy building :-) http://www.model-space.com/gb/
