Hello All, My name is Rich and I have been building models, mostly 1/24 plastic, since I was a teen in the 70's. I found out about the DeAgostini Shelby model through a US forum that I'm a member of, the SAAC (Shelby American Automobile Corporation) Forum. Someone had posted a youtube video of this massive beautiful Shelby model and I knew right away I was wanting one. In my years of building models, Exclusively Mustangs and Shelbys, I've never built one of this size and detail. The closest size I've built in the past is a plastic 1/12 scale, but no where near the detail this DeAgostini model has. I was a little reluctant to spending this kind of money for this model, but when I found out the payments will come in monthly installments, I couldn't wait to get on board to build this beautiful model.
I found out that I could get this model for US buyers just recently and when I heard about this forum and all the valuable information through videos, photos and discussions I couldn't wait to buy it and get started.
Enough about me, I'm learning while here that a lot of the members are from places I've never heard of. I'm very interested in knowing where you guys are from. And if you would like to respond to my thread, please feel free to let me know where you guys are from and what country it's in.
Thanks for reading, Rich

Thanks for responding and look forward to getting to chat and discuss our builds. I've never been out of the USA, but one day would really enjoy going to Europe. My nephew travels quite a bit and is teaching in Germany right now and has invited us anytime to come visit. Won't cost us nothing but our round trip flight tickets. We may have to take him up on that Rich

Welcome aboard Rich. Look forward to seeing your build on the forum. I'm from Llandrillo-yn-Rhos(Rhôs-on-Sea) in Sunny Cymru - North Wales. A little fact for you too. Just 20 minutes from my house is a town with Europes longest place name. If you can pronounce it lol... "llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch" translated is -
Parish church of St. Mary (Llanfair) in Hollow (pwll) of the White Hazel township (gwyn gyll) near (go ger) the rapid whirlpool (y chwyrn drobwll) and the parish of St. Tysilio (Llantysilio) with a red cave ([a]g ogo[f] goch).

Thanks all for the warm welcome. It's pretty cool to be chatting with people 1/2 a world away about something we all have in common. Some on here know already that I have started a build diary. I just started my DeAgostini Shelby model about two weeks ago. I can only work on it a little at a time due to my small business. Please check it out under "rpmracing18 build diary". Thanks Rich
