They were made of wood??? I had no idea! Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

Yep!
And they still are, it's a skid block, someone correct me if I'm wrong but it's something to do with safety e.g., if wheels came off the wood won't spark etc, and maybe something do do with weight

It was to set the ride height of the car, it was a set thickness and had to be measured at the end of the race, every car had one. They have gone back to metal now so they do spark to make it more visually interesting.

So, I might be completely wrong about this one as I'm still wrapping my head around all things F1, but I found that it's never been the whole floor area - but just a plank installed in the middle of the floor, 300mm wide, and with a length from the axis of the rear wheels to 330mm short of the axis of the front wheels (see here for a diagram - and by the way, it's an awesome website, so be prepared to sink there for many hours). But all that is irrelevant, as the plank has been introduced in 1994, so long after MP4/6 was raced. So maybe it was indeed the whole floor before that? But I can't find any references to it, and the only reason for the wooden plank was to enforce the ride height in the wake of Senna's 1994 crash, so it seems unlikely for the wooden panelling being used in 1991 and 1992? Hope it does come out constructive, I don't mean to question your choices or anything like that, just to understand this aspect of the car... I love the bolts, by the way Not sure if I will attempt that with my clumsy fingers!
