Thanks for the comments Andy and Alan It's certainly testing the patience Alan as you can see the bulwarks have been raised because I followed the instructions . Cut the bulwarks to the top of the frames oh no you don't as they work out to low for the cannons cheers for that Corel so if anyone is building this kit I recommend throwing the instructions into the bin and go with the one to one plans Cheers for following rgd Martyn Building ? Cheers Ian for the comments A bit more done on the Wasa I have finished the whales and the planking on both sides as you can see the upper part of the hull is planked in the red Mahogany as Corel supplies some blue planks that are not correct as the ship is painted red but as I don't want to paint the hull I went with the Mahogany to keep the all wood finish Next job finishing the planking on the inner bulwarks Thanks for looking rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Cheers for the comments Alan and Ian A bit more work on the Wasa Had a go at painting some of the carvings l think they have come out not to bad especially as they are tiny I looked at the turrets and thought that they looked to plain as Corel suggests just staining them so decided to put some shingles on the roof as per the real thing. Started on one just to see if it would work out ok and it seemed to but the Mermaid carving just sat on the top and looked naff . So to get the carving to fit better I have cut grooves to fit the Mermaids into the roof so they don't looked plonked on. Nice work Martyn, putting those shingles on is a stroke of genius and looks much better than just sticking with the original parts. Well done Happy building David

Thanks for the brilliant comments guys Time for the next update Finally got the galleries finished they just need the carvings glued on but need to paint them first Also I have built the gratings and glued them to the decks Next job fitting the round gunports. I made up one of the cannons to get the position right. One thing is the cannons are the wrong period more late 18c or early 19c plus the Vasa had 8 three pound long guns and 6 two pounder falconets and Corel gives you 14 8 pounder guns I must admit the cannon carriages are very good After fitting the gunport rings started painting the carvings for the stern and will be fitting them when dried hopefully some time today the two knights seem to be missing four of their mates as their should be six perhaps they have jumped ship The long carvings that go between the prow don't fit so a lot more fiddling Thanks for looking Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Thanks Bernd for the nice comments The carvings are a right fiddle to paint and they have some crazy colours Just looked at my pictures of the gratings and realise they are pictures of the dry fit as they don't line up but they are on the ship now I have glued them into place Rgd Martyn Building ? Very nice Martyn, excellent paintwork... .. Does look as though the paintwork would be a real fiddle to do but that's all part of modelling.... Very well done.... Regards Alan
