to stain or not to stain Options

sorry about your staining problems and i agree with you that the build states
that hardwoods would be used for the wales etc.
But we must carry on regardless
Firstly i would not try staining any parts of the build you will never get
a good line between the stained wood and the natural.
I intend to use walnut strips that i have ordered from cornwall boats
With these and some walnut venear which i might need later the total cost was
less than £15.
I know it is a additional cost but it will be worth it to get a better finish
and will be less hassle than trying to stain
I have done the port linings in the wood supplied
With regards to your problem you could either sand the stain offConfused
or remove the linings and replace with hardwood of your choiceCursing

Hi Jeff..

very new hobby to me and am still on the uphill climb on learning curve 1:10..lol

I have gained a lot of information on laminating from the endeavour dvd.

i will probably invest in some walnut strips to put in the gun ports.
