I was just rubbing down the stand ready to stain and glue and I got to thinking about the name plate.

Hopefully the ship will be a work of art when it's finished and so the name plate ought to reflect that and I was wondering if there is going to be one included in the build of whether we would have to buy or make our own.

Something large and in enamel maybe and bolted on would be great. Does anyone here know of any sites that sell these? I have seen a few but they look cheap.

apperently then stand thats been already supplied is not the finished stand it is only while the build is on going and towards the end a more proffectional stand will be supplied, so i would hold off on any modiffications until that time, hopfully admin will confirm this.
Builds in progress: HMS Victory.HMS Surprise.
Completed builds: Revell London Bus 1/24.
Builds to do:Sovereign of the seas, Hms Albion.

I have not seen any admin post stating a further stand is to be supplied other than the build stand already supplied.

I have just been looking at past issues and on the cover of issue 29 the stand looks like its done in a hard wood and a different shape, i know there is some poetic licence with the build but it also states on the back of issue 23 that the stand is to support the model during construction, i dont mind if we get one or not as i have other plans to support my finished masterpiece lol, but as for other members some clarification would be in order so they could paint, stain or embelish there current stand as they wish for only to be repaced at a later stange.

Just thought I'd mention as I was now working on Issue 24, that it specifically calls it a 'Building Stand' for display during construction, as in fact Tomick also calls it in his diary.

So I look forward to see what the replacement will be.

surely a proper display stand with victory name plate will be supplied as part of the subscription...next thing will be "sorry but the sails will be an option to buy if you want them"..and the finished boat is sitting on a very nice stand in the advert

well you dont advertise a car with 12 months mot when it hasnt got an mot at all...eaglemoss' endeavour supplies a personalised name plate stating the ships name and built by name in your 5th delivery,so yes it should be included..its like the wood supplied, the add shows dark wood gunport surrounds and dark wood hull planking, did we get it ,no.this is not a moan just a confusing thought as to whats next to not be included in what we saw in the advert..oh yeah and it shows copper plate aswell...oh my god whats nextBigGrin
