I have finally got back to my bench and decided to have a look at the new release from the Tamiya motorbike stable. I have never been disappointed with Tamiya kits, and this one is no exception. The parts are clean and crisply cast in black, metallic grey and metallic charcoal plastic. The chrome coating on the exhaust sprue is faultless, and it will take some careful work to cut the parts off with minimum damage. I am hoping I won't have to repaint them, and I will be heat treating the headers. The clear parts for the screen are perfect with no scratches. The slick tyres are superb and will scuff up nicely to give a slightly worn look. You get the usual bag of screws, screw driver and tubing, and a coil spring for the rear suspension unit. The water slide decals are the usual standard, my only niggle is the H2R had unpainted carbon fibre top fairing and side wings, and it would have been nice to get decals to show this, although I am sure there are aftermarket sheets of carbon fibre decal for anyone who wants to build this kit as accurately as possible. The instructions are again to the usual Tamiya format, giving paint references as you build. Overall, another fine offering from Tamiya.
The Zero paint set is spot on with their colours, giving you the metallic silver base and Kawasaki candy green top coat for the frame, and the black chrome and gloss top coat for the seat cowl and fairings. I will be using a scale carbon decal sheet for the top fairing and wings. In all, with the kit from Tamiya and the Zero paints, this should build into a superb model of a very impressive motorbike. I am going to hold off building straight away to see what detail up sets appear for the front forks, brake discs and chain set which would really step it up to the next level. BigGrin

That is one mean looking bike Daran and what looks like another cracking kit to the famously high standard that we know and love from Tamiya. Can't wait to see this take shape when you start it at some point in the future. I know you'll make a fabulous job of it and those Zero paints will push it to a higher level!!

Nice kit review mate, well done. Drool Cool ThumpUp
