In 1943, Squadron Leader George "Johnny" Johnson joined the elite 617 Squadron commonly known as the 'Dambusters' as a bomb aimer. Aged 95, he is now the last surviving member of the Dambusters.
In 2014 a Government petition was launched calling for Johnny to be knighted which was signed by over 36,000 people and went ignored.
Once again this voice has been ignored in favour of Govt cronies - simply disgusting!

I wholeheartedly agree Tom, absolutely disgusting!!  
Makes a mockery of the whole Honours system when you look at some of the newest recipients? EVEN Ken Dodd got a gong - what has he done and where has he been for the last 20 years!! A man who spent his life acting the clown and playing with puppets gets rewarded and yet a man who risked his life for his country in a very dangerous situation gets a slap in the face from the pompous elitists that continue to disregard the wishes of the common man and yet again our brave Bomber Boys get forgotten - nothing changes!!
Such a shame.

But Victoria Beckham given an OBE your having a laugh, who's also been accused of "a betrayal of etiquette" by revealing she was to receive an OBE in the New Year Honours list.
Sadly Johnny will likely go to his grave without such an honour and only then will our government wake up

Just signed it, now up to 123,862 signatures, so let's hope he gets the reward and recognition that he truly deserves, as do the rest of the forgotten heroes from Bomber Command!!
