I built the Trumpy one a few years ago - superb model. I did cheat a bit though, and made mine in the Gulf colours. File Attachment(s): roymattblack attached the following image(s):

I have the Trumpeter one in my stash. Any particular gotchas to expect, Roy? Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

In terms of 'buildability' it's an equal of the best from Tamiya. It almost falls together. There's tons of scope for adding extra details, plumbing, wiring etc. One glaring omission though - distributor and ignition leads! Easily scratched.
A hugely fun build.

It is just a market test at the moment so they will probably only release 3-4 weeks worth of parts and then stop and figure out if it will be popular. The test pieces may also not be the same as the full release if they decide to release it.
I have my eye on this too

Trumpeter GT40 upgradeRegards delboy271155 (Derek) Not sure why it's so expensive here though. I have a much more extensive version of this details set, including white metal parts and resin seats on top of what's there - and I paid much less for it. sorry to resurrect an old post. Tomick pointed me in this direction after suggesting a le mans partwork. i would absoluetly love to get my mitts on this altaya GT40. the GT40 is one of my favourite cars. its just super sexy i must admit though, i prefer it in the gulf colours. having read through this i am super interested in the trumpeter model. so if anyone could help point me in the direction to get it i will be a happy boy. do you have to paint all the parts, or are they pre painted? if not i would prefer to paint in the gulf colours as roymattblack has, also where did you get the #9 decals, as it looks like the trumpeter is supplied with #2? im a bit of a beginner when it comes to proper models, and ore a fan of partworks but i need that GT40 in my life. it looks stunning here's a pic of me with a gt40 at bruntingthorpe a few years ago. its not a genuine le mans, but is a genuine '66 gt40, restored and painted in gulf livery semaj attached the following image(s): Building: Ghostbusters Ecto-1, Ford GT40, Gone in 60 seconds Eleanor mustang, Shelby Cobra Complete: R2D2, Red Bull RB7 RC, Battleship Bismarck, Shelby GT500 'super snake'

Absolutely gorgeous in real life, but totally impractical. Does anyone remember when Clarkson got his? So funny watching him trying to fold his massive frame to get in it The kits look just as stunning though. Wonderland have this one: https://www.wonderlandmo...ter-112-ford-gt40-mkii/
Good luck with your quest. Regards Gray
