Hello all and a Happy New Year.

Well I finally plucked up the courage to release Trumpeters 1/200 HMS Hood
from the box and to be honest it's a little bit daunting!

This is probably going to be the most challenging model I have ever built
but also looking forward to constructing it.

I'm waiting for some paint to arrive, hopefully by Tuesday, then I can make a start.

I've used a tenner as perspective, change left over from its purchase, so you can see its true scale.

Regards to all

Alan

On a serious note all the reviews I have read seem positive so hopefully
all will turn out as expected.

Carl, how long did it take you to build the Arizona?

It certainly is on the large size! Just preparing myself mentally for what I see as a bit of a challenge.

Found a bit of time this afternoon so decided to make an earlier than planned start.

Photo shows strengtheners in place ( I'm assuming that's what they are called)!

Hi all

Nothing much to report except construction is finally underway.

Had some issues with purchasing paints on-line and its taken weeks to resolve. That said, paint is now with me and I have started preparing the hull for painting.

Photos to follow ASAP.

Cheers
