Ok so been busy, started to add the detail of clothes, hair, jewellery and weapons. Loincloths was fairly easy with superfine milliput rolled out fine, some of the beads are rigging which is pre painted others are black milliput along with the hair. With regards to the hair this was black milliput, let it semi harden roll it out and platt it into strands, after doing this and letting it cure I have decided it needs to come off and be re done. The reason for this is it is not a high enough platt and looks too heavy and not what I was trying to achieve so will post agin once re done. godan61 attached the following image(s):

started the base, easy and cheap way to create a nice effect. 1. 3/4 mdf kut into a rough shape and stacked 2. quick carving with a chisel and dremel sander 3. glue them together and seal with PVA glue 4. whilst the glue is still tacky spread quick dry polyfilla 5. use a wet sponge to smooth and crawl a texture 6. when dry using spray cans not an airbrush, base coat black, mist coat dark grey, mist coat light grey. This gives a lovely stone texture where you can now add some shadows and dry brush highlights and some some scenic effects. WHOLE PROCESS TOOK ABOUT 3 HOURS godan61 attached the following image(s):

Thanks for all the comments, this was a total departure and something new. I have always built kits or used a kit as a base model with regards to figures but has inspired me for my build entry for the year which I will start when this is finished. The bow is 3 bits of wood laminated together soaked in water, bent under pressure and left. It was then carved into shape with rigging used as the wrap and cross wrapped, painted black and dry brushed. The knife and scabbard shaped in milliput and carved. I have discovered that if you get the scale right doing this there is a lot that is achievable. If my plans for my next build are correct it will be about a foot long and 20 inches across. godan61 attached the following image(s):

So final steps of this test run, I have re done the hair achieving a tighter braid and rebuilding it in a deadlock style. I think this looks a lot better. The arrows are carved wood and milliput tips and feathers. Finally there is a collection of finished shots on out base which I placed infant of a printed backdrop of the floating mountains of pandora. Sorry couldn't resist it, hope you enjoy its been a new challenge but spurred me on for my build of the year. godan61 attached the following image(s):

Thanks guys this has been an enjoyable departure from my normal builds and cost wise incredibly cheaper. Depending on how the ikran goes I may even build a viper wolf to go with it, got that sort of excited scared feeling .
