Hi Guys
i am on issue 16-18 at the moment and starting to pin/naail the lower deck in place...anybody got this far yet ? either i am a bit useless or the tool to put the pins in is a bit dodgy ,i tried a bit this afternoon and battled a bit,a few bent pins,a few missed the target and a few not going all the way in .
Anybody got any advice to offer the ones on the outer edge are the most difficult i foundBlushing

Patience and practice.

However that was the main reason I decided not to to pin the planks.

The best way is to drill pilot holes first in the deck, then gently push the pin in...hope this helps

I used A Bradawl to make the pilot holes for the nail before pushing them home, you will find that the nail tends to move from side to side in the nailer, but patience and being careful you should overcome any problems, believe me, the more you use the nailer the more proficient you become...enjoy your build...

as dontshootme say's ALWAYS drill pilot holes first, and when you do planking.I punched a hole through my deck,so the pin pusher went in the bin.I now use a small pin hammer and a centre punch.

Hi Trev

I have just finished the lower gun deck.

I found the only problem with the nailer was the accuracy of placing the nail. I found if the nailer is square to the wood and a firm constant pressure is applied it works well. The odd nail which is not flush can be tapped in with a light hammer and pin punch.

Mini drills are available for http://hobbytech.co.za/ in Westville.

As a matter of interest was your missing part 31. In issue 14 I got 30,30a,30b instead of 31 and 30 was supplied again in issue 15. I phone CS who promised to resend issue 14 (hope part 31 arrives)

Happy building.
